photographer's notes - "sometimes when you're young, you experience moments of such happiness...you think you're in someplace magical". its a line from Hearts In Atlantis, a movie that as far as i know no one has seen but me.

i think about this more and more at the weddings we get to see and photograph.

when i look back on the arc of our studio, i can remember the climb...the frenetic days of establishing ourselves as shooters - and i can remember "arriving", and working our 90 or so weddings per year, but more and more i find myself thinking of what it is we get to see and be a part of; and how lucky we are, all of us.

as our night came to a close on Christine and Jerrod's wedding, deep in Virginia's Hunt Country just outside of DC on a clear summer night, thats what i was thinking about.

Angie & Brent's Charlotte Wedding, The Morehead Inn

photographer's notes - the clean, smooth tonality of a high overcast day is something thats always interesting to work with. the shadowless light and the rich color saturation that accompanies it makes for some lovely imagery.

Angie and Brent's wedding day took place at the historic Morehead Inn, which along with its sister locale, Vanlandingham Estate, was the first location we linked up when Indigo first launched.

with its dramatic staircase and gardened courtyard, Samantha and i had a great shoot with our couple!
