Joanna & Stuart's Wedding, Mt. Gilead, NC

photographer's notes - this has been a really interesting year. in terms of our work, this is our busiest year since 2008...all of our lead photographers have been very active. technically we've also been exploring different things, trying to push ourselves further.

finally, what has been a real treat is all the varied locations we've had the pleasure of shooting in.

Joanna and Stuart were married in the little town of Mount Gilead. as someone who lived in NYC, i still always get completely charmed by places like this - i had alot of fun with the hero shots we did at dusk (lately, i'm all about shooting in twilight).

the image of Joanna in front of the church was inspired by Andrew Wyeth's painting, "Christina's World".

Rachel and Donielle's Charlotte Wedding

photographer's notes - the Pewter Rose is an interesting location. with its whimsical interiors and airy porch area, i've always found there are new ideas to be explored. there is a real feeling of "street chic" that permeates some of our work there.

for Rachel and Donielle's wedding day, i was really happy with the hero shot of the two of them at the bar...there is such a sense of swagger to their body language, i thought it was brilliant.

thanks to Rachel's bridesmaids, who suggested the tiny (but colorful) side chapel for a brief pre-wedding series we did. the roof made me think of Greece, with its cobalt blue hues.

Nicole's Bridal Session, Charlotte City Club, NC

We started out at the Charlotte City Club, where she got married on 6.16.12, and then went to a field to get a different look & feel. Love the ones in the City Club but the ones in the field with her red hair against all the greenery was just stunning..

Tracy & Jeff's Wedding, Charlotte, NC, The Ritz Carlton Charlotte

Photographer's notes: Love, love this couple. Tracy never said anything without a smile and had such a positive energy about her that was definitely contagious. Even during a freak out moment on her bridal portrait day ... We discovered after her alterations, she couldn't step into her dress anymore.. So after some stress & sweat we realized her heavily layered dress would have to go over her head along with her freshly done makeup & hair. But always with a smile & a laugh..everything was fine. And a glass a wine didn't hurt either ;) Tracy & Jeff are without a doubt, perfect for each other.
