Samantha and Steven's E-sess, Davidson, NC

photographer's notes - locations have such an impact on the tone and tenor of our portraits. like all our creative decisions, where we decide to shoot flows from a dialogue we have with our clients.

our e-session with Samantha and Steven was done mostly in downtown Davidson. when we were concepting things out, i wanted a light, summery feel...i loved the playfulness of the soda shop series. the balloons trailing behind them as we walked through the campus echoed a whimsical theme that ran throughout our shoot.

the other aspect of all our work here at Indigo is improvisation, which is precisely what one does when a torrential downpour is imminent. we'd made our way over to the Peninsula Club for a more formal look when the entire horizon darkened...and we just went with it. props to Samantha and Stephen for being game (we eventually got soaked!), the dramatic images we captured shortly before we wrapped were amazing.
